I have a very expensive habit…using Fuji Fp-100C pack film. It didn’t used to be expensive, but once Fuji discontinued the film the prices for the remaining stock have skyrocketed. I bought a bunch right as they were discontinuing, so I haven’t spent what I could be spending but still, it hasn’t been cheap.
Something I like about using this brand of pack film, aside from the satisfaction of peeling the positive away from the negative, it’s that you can bleach away the black on the back of the negative and “reclaim” it.
I’ve done that to a few but I’m still learning how to scan and edit negatives so these examples do not look at all close to the positive, but I think they’re interesting enough images on their own.
Positive, taken with my Polaroid Land Camera 195
I also went back in with one of the tough guys photos. I have so much to learn about editing.
Within the next week or so I will react to two pieces, this newsletter by J. Robert Lennon, on authenticity in photography, and this essay by Elisa Gabbert. Just wanted to give you a chance to read both before I write about them.
Until next time…
