The Giglio Festival happens every year in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and oddly enough, this is the first year I attended. I say oddly enough because I lived in Williamsburg for a few years as a child and attended first grade at the Catholic school then-affiliated with the church that hosts the festival, and then many years later my old band played frequently played a club across the street. This visit brought it all full circle! Read more about it here.
The big thing to know about this festival is there is a tower that reaches toward the sky and a group of men lift it up and lead a processional toward the church.
